Throughout my life I’ve tried to be a good person, just because it’s the right thing to do. Now there are two more reasons to be admirable in word and deed, and those reasons are named Matthew and Luke.  And this beautiful song by Stephen Sondheim (from the musical “Into the Woods”) says it better than any other.  Here it is, sung by the incomparable Bernadette Peters.
