I know; it isn’t the sabbath anymore. But this is a beautiful song for anytime, anywhere. I love how it affirms tradition and ritual and the hopes that parents have for their kids. I sang it once in a high school production of “Fiddler on the Roof,” but twenty years later, it means a lot more to me now.  Life experience will do that.
